Gour Banga University PG Admission 2018; Gour Banga University Merit List 2018, Applications are invited for Admission to the Post Graduate Course M.A / M.Sc / M.Com / L.L.M for Session 2018. Application are invited through online UGB Portal in and from 23rd June 2017. Only those who graduate with Honours from a recognized University under (10+2+3) system or equivalent examination are eligible for admission.The PG Course for M.A Course in Arabic, Bengali, Economics, Education, English, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Sanskrit, Geography, Mass Communication and Journalism, Food and Nutrition. M.Sc Course in Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, Computer Science, Physiology & M.LI.Sc. M.Com in Commerce, L.L.M in Master in law. Admission Qualification:
The Candidate may be admitted to the first year PG Course Only those who graduate with Honours from a recognized University under (10+2+3) system or equivalent examination are eligible for admission. For the applicants who have completed their Honours or equivalent degree before 2018 (to the extent of the year 2015) marks @ 5% per year will be deducted from their obtained marks.

Eligibility for Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS):
For Fresher's: An Honours and /or Master's Degree in any subject or equivalent degree with minimum of 50% marks (no marks barrier for SC/ST/PWD Candidates) from any recognized institution, with a minimum of 45% marks in the H.S or equivalent examination. For Candidates with Certificate in Library & Information Science; Bachelor's degree in any subject with Certificate in library and Information Science with minimum 60% marks (45% for SC/ST and 55% for PD Candidates) from any recognized institution.
For Deputed Candidates Bachelor's Degree in any subject with at least one year experience as a whole time salaried employed in recognized Library / Information Center.

Botany (40 seats), Chemistry (40 seats), Computer Science (40 seats), Geography (40 seats), Physics (40 seats), Zoology (40 seats), Mathematics (90 seats), Physiology (21 seats), LL.M (21 seats), MLIS (21 seats), Mass Communication & Journalism (21 seats), Food and Nutrition (21 seats).

Selection Process:
Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit as per marks obtained in Honours or equivalent examinations. In case of students securing equal marks in aggregate in the said examination, marks obtained by them H.S will be taken for consideration of merit.

Seat Reservation:
60% of the total seats in each subject will be filled up only from the candidates from the affiliated colleges under the University of Gour Banga on the basis of the Merit list prepared non basis of marks obtained in U.G Hons. Examination. Remaining 40% of seats is open for the students of Other Universities and those of Gour Banga University who are not considered within 60%. Seats will be reserved for SC-22%, ST - 6%, OBC-A- 10%, OBC-B- 7%, Physically Handicapped- 3%.

Application & Admission Fees:
After Successful completion of all the steps (e.g filling up the personal details, academic details, uploading photo and signature the candidates, the candidates will pay Rs.400/- for General and OBC - A, OBC - B Candidates and Rs.150/- for SC, ST, & PWD candidates, excluding Bank Charges through offline mode of payment by Bank Challan in any Branch of United Bank of India. Fee Structure for Lab Based Rs.2800/- (Rs.200/- in addition be charged for registration from the students of other university, For Non Lab Based Rs.1800/- (Rs.200/- in addition be charged for registration from the students of other university.

2. Application for Admission will have to be made through Online Prescribed Form only. An incomplete form is liable to be cancelled.
3. Any wrong information provided in application form may invalidate the candidature.
